Hi! Welcome to my web site. My name is Melissa Linenberger. I work at K-State in the Office of Academic Personnel as a Public Service Administrator I (office manager/ project mananger-type position). I have worked at K-State for more than six years, starting out in the University Attorney's office. I have really enjoyed working at K-State and highly recommend it! I am also a full-time student. December 2007 I received a Certificate in Conflict Resolution from K-State and I am currently enrolled in Family Studies and Human Services (FSHS) with an emphasis in conflict resolution. If I can get through the remainder of this semester and then next semester with 12 credit hours each (mostly online or evenings) then I will graduate in May 2010. Yay! Once I make that goal, I plan to complete a master's degree in Negotiation and Dispute Resolution from Creighton University, in Omaha, Nebraska. The program, which I'm already in the process of applying for, is all online except for two or three in person three or four-day sessions. I'm pretty ambitious but I know that when I put my mind to something I can do it. Education has always been very important to me and I've always thrived on learning. I'd also like to set a good example for my children. My interest in education has been very strong for as long as I can remember. As a child I wanted to be two things- a mother and a teacher. I decided several years ago that I did not want to teach children. Now it looks like if I finish my degrees as planned I may be able to teach as instructor either at K-State or online in the areas of conflict resolution- my professional passion. My family consists of my husband Shaun, and our sons Shane and Logan, two crazy dogs (Buster- our silkie terrier and Mya- a "springing" spaniel mix) and of course our extended family. My boys are my pride and joy. We are very involved with their sporting activities, schools, scouts, karate and church. We stay busy but always find time to have a lot of fun as a family. We are also expecting our third son in December!!! That makes me super mom, right? I work full time, take classes full time, and have a great family. Somehow through all of this I maintain my sanity and spend lots of time with my kids as they allow me to continue to be who I am. For more about me see my blog at: http://mwaso.blogspot.com/. I update the blog often so if want to know anything about my crazy life that's where to look! Also you'll find pictures of my family and a few friends on this blog. I dabble in photography so some of my hobby work is also seen there. You are welcome to email me at mwaso at k-state.edu (work-related emails only please) and m_waso at yahoo.com (personal emails, no spam). Thanks for visiting! |
