Political Science 675: Religion and Politics
Additional Graduate Student Requirements
In addition to the requirements described in the syllabus, graduate students will be responsible for a more formal but still brief (no more than 10 minutes) presentation on their chosen report, and they will also be required to write a 10-15 page research paper on a topic they propose. The paper must utilize at least ten sources in all, of which at least five must be scholarly sources (scholarly journal articles, university press books). Other sources may include magazine, newspaper and internet sources. All sources must be cited in the paper with page numbers (or in the case of internet sources with URLs), using a consistent method of citation. This paper is due no later than the Thursday before finals week. Paper topics must be approved in advance and students are encouraged to check with me about the sources they use. Graduate student grade breakdown will be different from the undergraduates:
Midterm 20%
Message Board Participation 15%
Report 15%
Final Exam 30%
Research Paper 20%
