Quality Engineering Laboratory at Kansas State University
Quality Engineering Laboratory at Kansas State University was funded by NSF ILI grant
in 1992. The Lab consists of two major parts: Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE).
SPC
The major equipment of SPC is a desk-top production model.
The picture shows a brass bushing storage mechanism which can feed parts to student groups for SPC control chart
monitoring.
DOE
Students use tinkle toy to build cars which are required to travel
from 5 to 15 feet. This lab exercise exposes students to the concepts of both product design and process design.
